What is Reforge?

A shop, a school
and a crew of makers

Reforge Charleston is a member-run, nonprofit makerspace. Beginners and seasoned pros share the same benches, the same tools and a lot of know-how.

Classes for the public, one-on-one training with members, and a growing library of step-by-step equipment guides. Everything from sewing to Arduino programming.

Work

Members get access to laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC routers, a full woodshop, welders and electronics benches. Finish the project you’ve been putting off.

Every month there’s a new theme and a whole month to design, prototype and build. Use any tool in the shop. Every skill level is welcome and there are no wrong answers.

What’s happening

Do I need experience to join?

No. Plenty of members started as beginners. You’ll get an orientation, written guides for the equipment, and members who are happy to show you how things work.

When can members use the space?

Members can come in whenever Citadel Mall is open, even if the space looks closed from the outside. The door unlocks with the Kisi app on your phone.

Can I visit before I sign up?

Yes. Contact us or call 843-410-8632 to set up a tour.

Can I use every machine on day one?

Some equipment needs training first. See a board member for training and sign-off. Laser cutters also need the $10/mo laser add-on.

Can I bring my kids?

Children and youth are welcome when they’re with a member, and must be supervised by a parent/guardian or an authorized Reforge member at all times.

Who qualifies for the Discount plan?

Students, teachers, retirees, veterans and active-duty military.

Is Reforge a business?

No. Reforge Charleston is a volunteer-run, educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations may be tax-deductible.
